Texas Oncology is looking for a Float Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position will support the Medical Oncology Department at our Wichita Falls, Tx location. This is a full‑time Monday‑Friday position (8:00 am‑5:00 pm) with no weekends, on‑call or major holidays.

What does the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) do?Under general supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients, ensuring compliance with national and company standards. Responsibilities include recognizing physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care, and supporting the US Oncology Compliance Program.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients about current status and medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional materials.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient’s chart.
- As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Inter‑professional collaboration.
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
- Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program; BSN preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Open to entry, mid, or senior level candidates.
- Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
The work environment may involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Physical RequirementsThe role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. The RN must stand and walk for extensive periods. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range are required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
