American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/PCU Float position requiring floating support to Med Surg and prior travel nursing experience.
Details- PCU Float unit primarily supporting Med Surg
- Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
- 84 hours biweekly with 72 hour guarantee on alternating 36/48 hour schedule
- Weekend work required as needed, potentially most weekends during the contract
- Floating required to support Med Surg
- Block scheduling may be accommodated but set schedules cannot be approved
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- EMR:
Epic experience required
- Active RN license (TX or Compact) required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
- Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience with renal, neurological, and GI patient care
- Wound care and IV insulin protocol experience
- Documents required for consideration:
Nursys license verification, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, and RTO
- Care for patients with cardiac, renal, neurological, and respiratory conditions in a PCU/Telemetry setting
- Provide cardiac monitoring and respond to dysrhythmias and rapid response/code situations
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, and administer blood products as needed
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility, and local candidates are not accepted
- License must be in-hand prior to start date
- Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the offer or have a documented completion plan
- Orientation includes 2-3 hours of training modules completed via Oracle
