DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with 3+ years of experience and TX or compact RN licensure for a Level II Trauma Center emergency department.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- Level II Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke certified
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule alternating 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (11:00-23:00) on a 36/48 hour rotation
- Epic charting system used, experience preferred
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- 3 years of ER experience required (firm requirement)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, MAB
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Experience managing shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and splint application/orthopedic trauma care
- Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
- Care for a wide range of ER presentations including pediatrics, psychiatric conditions, respiratory emergencies, and neurological trauma
- Experience with CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury cases preferred
- Responsibilities may include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and IV therapy
- Administration of emergency medications including IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- RTO must be submitted with candidate profile
- License must be in-hand prior to start date
