Since 1989, TTUHSC Managed Care has been providing clinical and operational support to correctional facilities throughout West Texas and other regional areas. We serve approximately 30,000patients utilizing a broad range of comprehensive medical andhealth services. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
Employees in this classification are responsible for nursing careat unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Implementsunit objectives and administrative policies. This position is underclinical supervision of the Unit Director of Nurses.
Major/Essential Functions- Makes daily assignments as appropriate and ensures all daily assignments are accomplished.
- Communicates patient data using Electronic Health Record (EHR) to support decision-making to improve patient care.
- Assists with or performs exams and procedures and documentsintervention in EHR.
- Administer or assist with administration and documentation of medication.
- Supports the goal of the unit by attending meetings and sharing the information with the staff in regular staff meetings.
- Maintains working knowledge of current issues and treatmentmodalities.
- Monitor patient Access to Care for housing areas assigned toyour shift.
- Assures that physical counts of sharps, instruments, & keysare correct and documented in appropriate logs.
- Accepts on call rotation.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, directing management functions for the unit.
- Responds to all request in a timely manner as required.

- Day Shift Employees:
Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday. - Night Shift Employees:
- Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shifts worked Monday through
Friday. - Earn an extra $8.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday.

Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Two years of nursing experience, with at least 6 months of that experience as aRegistered Nurse. Possession of a valid, current RN license as approved by the Texas State Board of Examiners.
