American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PCU Float position requiring 2+ years of experience, prior travel experience, and compact RN licensure.
Details- PCU Float role primarily supporting Med Surg units
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours), 19:00-7:00
- Must agree to alternating 36/48 hour biweekly schedule totaling 84 hours with 72 hour guarantee
- Weekend work required, potentially most weekends during the contract
- Block scheduling may be accommodated but set schedules cannot be guaranteed
- Floating required across units, primarily to Med Surg
- Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand before start
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
- Experience managing respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry
- Experience with cardiac drip management, insulin protocols, and wound care
- Experience in cardiovascular, neurological, and renal patient care settings
- Provide care to patients with cardiac, neurological, renal, and respiratory conditions on a telemetry/stepdown unit
- Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
- Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the offer or a completion plan must be in place
- Must complete facility orientation modules, averaging 2-3 hours
