We are a 24/7 extrusion operation with 12‑hour shifts on a 2‑3‑2 schedule that typically rotates days to nights every six months, and a 9‑hour, 5‑day per week shift to cover the 24‑hour operation. Depending on business needs, you may be asked to work any of these shifts and overtime. You should have a basic knowledge of our facility’s layout: compressed‑air systems;
chilled water, recycled water, and city water systems; electrical distribution panels; bus bar disconnects; and primary circuit breakers. You will be responsible for maintaining all equipment in all plant areas, covering all emergency breakdowns and repairs promptly. Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, as well as basic welding and fabrication skills, are required. Tasks include preventative maintenance: lubrication, filter inspection and replacement, oil changes, motor and pump replacements, plumbing, painting, cleaning, and any other mechanical and electrical duties assigned.
Adequate computer skills are needed to use SAP to generate work orders, track labor, and consume materials. High safety standards must be maintained.
- Perform all basic mechanical and electrical duties required.
- Cover all emergency breakdowns and repairs promptly.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks according to the Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electromechanical systems, including motors, sensors, and control systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing to identify potential issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately in compliance with company protocols.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Complete routine assignments without direct supervision.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles and systems.
- Hands‑on experience with basic tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and basic programming knowledge.
- Proficiency in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
- Understanding of motor control systems and circuit design.
- Basic knowledge of automation technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40‑50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
