Position Assistant Coach, Football – Defensive Department (Athletics / Football). Starting Date: ASAP. Salary:
Commensurate with Experience. Job # S051-26. Budget Position # NA1497.
Responsible to the Head Football Coach for coaching and recruiting duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Assist Head Coach in organizing and supervising practices; enforcing discipline and conduct rules; and developing recruiting program to attract top quality student athletes.
- Review and evaluate game film and recommend strategies for upcoming opponents.
- Assist in monitoring academic progress and eligibility status of student-athletes.
- Conduct performance evaluations and counsel individual student athletes.
- Supervise graduate student coaches.
- Ensure compliance with conference and national athletic association rules and regulations.
- Assist with fundraising activities.
- Represent Head Coach at public functions when absent.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Head Coach and/or Athletics Director.
Preferably 3–5 years of coaching experience at a four-year institution, or 3–5 years at junior college or high school level.
KnowledgeEffective communication and interpersonal skills with diverse constituencies; public speaking skills extremely helpful; organizational and administrative skills; computer skills with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Hudl; comfortable with technology.
EducationBachelor's required;
Master's preferred, preferably in Kinesiology and/or Sports Administration.
Must be qualified to teach academic subjects; strong interpersonal skills; must pass NCAA recruiting certification test annually; serves as Campus Security Authority per Clery Act.
