Part-Time Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis (approximately 25 hours per week). The successful candidate will oversee the shelter’s financial records, maintain accurate accounting using Quick Books, and support our mission through responsible stewardship of resources.

• Manage and maintain all financial records in Quick Books.
• Process accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with annual budgets.
• Track donations, grants, and designated funds accurately.
• Support audits and compliance reporting.
• Collaborate with staff leadership and the board treasurer as needed.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Quick Books.
• Knowledge of nonprofit accounting preferred (but not required).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Dependable and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to support the shelter’s Christian mission.

Hours:

Approximately 25 hours per week (flexible schedule may be available).

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience.
