This position supports the judicial division of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. This position works primarily with receiving, sorting, and distributing mail for the judicial division. This position also assists with other administrative tasks including scanning and customer service. This position is exposed to sensitive and potentially emotionally disturbing information, and hostile or emotionally charged customers.
Civil Service Paperwork- Twice daily, pick up mail from Sheriff Administration
- Open, separate, and distribute mail to parts of the office
- Sort mail for process servers by sender, timestamp, enter into Civil Serve, and distribute to servers
- Process checks and other payment, and enter information into Civil Serve
- Create affidavits for out-of-state service requests, obtain signatures from process servers, and notarize the documents
- Collect paperwork completed by Civil Process Servers, and return completed copies of paperwork to the original senders
- Print out information related to payments from Civil Serve, and put into envelopes
- Deliver payment envelopes to Sheriff Administration during the morning mail pickup
- File copies of PFA/PFS orders into Sheriff’s Office recordkeeping software
- Take calls and assist walk-in customers with questions related to Judicial division processes
- Take payments from walk-in customers for Judicial services
High school diploma or equivalent. One year of administrative or customer service related experience. Experience with Microsoft Suite or similar systems. Must obtain NCIC Certification within six months of hire. If selected, candidates will be required to pass pre-employment testing of 80% reading comprehension to be completed after interview.
Preferred QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field. Two years of experience with court systems or law enforcement agencies. One year of experience with Microsoft Suite. Formal NCIC training.
