Overview

The Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) is seeking a full-time, on-site Administrative Assistant to join our team in our Wichita, KS offices. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with no major holidays, no on-call and no weekends.

What does this position entail?

Under direct supervision, provides administrative support services for leadership and the organization. Performs a wide variety of administrative duties, project coordination, communication, recordkeeping, scheduling, and compliance support functions. Handles confidential information with discretion while supporting processes and organizational initiatives.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Provide administrative support as assigned.
  • Compile and review data; draft initial versions of documentation, memos, presentations, and slide decks; and route materials for final review, refinement, and submission.
  • Monitor general administrative inboxes; organize and prioritize communications; and assist with drafting responses, escalating items, and entering data as needed.
  • Review and cross‑reference calendars to identify conflicts, scheduling concerns, and priority items.
  • Maintain digital records for the administrative team, ensuring data is accurately entered, organized, and accessible to support leadership and organizational projects.
  • Answer telephones, screen and direct calls, take accurate messages, and respond professionally to routine inquiries.
  • Provide administrative follow‑up on assigned projects, tasks, and action items.
  • Assist with special projects, research initiatives, audits, and departmental programs.
  • Compile data and prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and other supporting materials.
  • Assist with tracking project statuses, maintaining task lists, and proactively following up to ensure timely completion of assignments.
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing administration of organizational initiatives.
  • Assist with updating organizational forms, templates, and administrative tools to improve workflow efficiency and consistency.
  • Assist with content updates, marketing and public relations initiatives, and organizational communications as assigned.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, provider, company proprietary, confidential, and legally privileged information.
  • Support compliance activities, audits, and documentation requirements as assigned.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA‑related responsibilities, when applicable.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in a professional office environment.
