Assistant Director Of Admissions
The Assistant Director of Admissions assists the Director of Admissions in the oversight of admissions operations, recruitment initiatives, and the implementation of admissions policies and procedures for the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM). This position supports the day-to-day operations of the admissions office, collaborates with faculty, staff, and campus partners, and contributes to achieving the College's enrollment goals while advancing its mission.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Admissions Operations
- Support and uphold COM-approved admissions policies and procedures, ensuring compliance throughout the admissions process.
- Assist the Director of Admissions in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the admissions office, ensuring departmental goals, timelines, and deadlines are met.
- Monitor admissions workflows and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in maintaining accurate applicant records and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of admissions data.
Admissions Committee & Application Review
- Assist in reviewing applicant files and ensuring applications progress through the admissions process in a timely manner.
- Coordinate Admissions Committee meetings and communications as directed.
- Support the Admissions Committee in the review of applications and the implementation of committee decisions.
Recruitment & Applicant Experience
- Represent KHSU-KansasCOM at recruitment events, conferences, and outreach activities to promote the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
- Assist in planning and executing admissions events, including interview days, campus visits, tours, webinars, and other recruitment initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Admissions Event Coordinator to ensure successful execution of admissions-related events.
- Respond to prospective student inquiries and provide accurate, timely, and professional guidance throughout the admissions process.
- Support the development and maintenance of recruitment materials and promotional resources in collaboration with Marketing and other institutional partners.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and institutional partners to support enrollment goals and ensure effective communication across departments.
- Assist in training, mentoring, and supporting admissions staff while fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Keep the Director of Admissions informed of departmental activities, progress toward goals, and emerging issues requiring attention.
- Serve as the operational lead for the admissions office in the absence of the Director of Admissions, as assigned.
- Collaborate with the Admissions Event Coordinator to oversee the Admissions Ambassador Program for current medical students.
Assessment & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and report admissions and recruitment data to support strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to support departmental and institutional decision-making.
- Monitor admissions trends and recommend process improvements that enhance applicant experience and operational effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess situations and make sound decisions consistent with institutional policies and procedures.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain professionalism, and handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
