Clerk I Position at Walters Branch Library

Wichita Public Library is accepting applications for a part-time Clerk I at our Walters Branch Library located at 4195 E Harry Street. General responsibilities include: customer assistance in all aspects of library service in person and by telephone, shelving and shelf-reading, collection maintenance, public computer assistance, and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Clerks spend approximately half of each scheduled shift shelving library materials and conducting materials handling processes such as sorting materials, loading carts of items, or shelf-reading sections of materials. The employee selected for a part-time clerk position must be able to demonstrate a strong customer service orientation and demonstrate computer competency that includes the ability to assist others with basic public computing needs.

The current day and hours for this position:

• Tuesday - 12:30pm - 4:30pm
• Wednesday - 12:30pm - 4:30pm
• Thursday - 3:15pm - 7:15pm
• Friday - 11:00am - 3:00pm
• Saturday - 11:00am - 3:00pm
• Sunday - Monday days off.

  While this position is currently assigned a fixed schedule, shift and work hours are subject to change based on operational needs. Final schedule will be confirmed at the time of hire and may vary depending on department requirements.
