Job StoryThe Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships is looking for a Federal Work Study–eligible Student Assistant to support our front desk and help create a welcoming, organized experience for students and guests. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, providing friendly customer service, answering questions, and helping connect students to the resources they need.
You will assist with daily office operations, including greeting guests, managing check‑ins, logging information, and completing assigned tasks with strong attention to detail. This position also supports outreach efforts such as calling campaigns and special projects that help students stay informed and engaged.
This role is ideal for a student who enjoys helping others, communicates clearly, stays organized, and takes pride in completing tasks accurately. You’ll gain valuable professional experience in customer service, office operations, and student support while contributing to a team that makes a meaningful impact on campus.
Job SummaryA student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties- Provide customer service in person and over the phone to students, families, and staff.
- Assists with office mailings (printing, folding, and stuffing envelopes).
- Scans and electronically files documents in student accounts.
- Reviews digital documents for quality and accuracy.
- Assists with office communications including calling campaigns, mailings, and emails.
- Assists with data entry and reporting.
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Preferred Qualifications- 3.00 GPA or greater
- Bilingual
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
