This role is at Spirit Aero Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit’s Defense Business Unit ("Spirit Defense"). Spirit Defense is an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace. - Support the Capture Manager by managing and directing proposal preparation tasks
- Set and manage proposal schedules, plans, deadlines, and monitor the proposal team’s progress
- Transform capture strategy into aligned proposal strategies and themes
- Build the proposal compliance matrix and track fulfillment of all requirements
- Support proposal efforts by coordinating with Engineering, Supply Chain/Subcontracts, Contracts, Scheduling, and Finance to define scope, schedule, cost, and risk
- Support developing/compiling accurate BOEs, BOMs, vendor data, and other proposal artifacts
- Analyze the solicitation document and ensure proposals are compliant with all proposal instructions
- Support, participate, and respond to reviews ensuring accuracy, consistency, responsiveness and compliance of the proposal with solicitation requirements
- Develop the initial story boards in preparation for dissemination to writers for completion
- Review writer’s section drafts and graphics to ensure requirements are adequately addressed within page allocations
- Conduct regular proposal progress status meetings and maintain the proposal schedule
- Develop plans for interim reviews and internal evaluation of the technical, management, cost, and past performance volumes and any additional required submittals
- Direct writing, editing, and rewriting efforts to achieve a persuasive, customer-focused, clear, and concise proposal
- Assess Final Proposal Review recommendations with the core capture team and incorporate approved recommendations into the final proposal
- Complete reasonable and normal duties associated with the Proposal Manager position, as directed by the Capture Manager, or Senior Manager and/or Senior Director
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of related proposals or technical writing experience in the government contracts and/or government proposals space
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Successful candidates must be able to secure Program access approval
- Bachelor's Degree
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience utilizing the BIDS tools and processes
- Detail-oriented with excellent business acumen skills
- Ability to coordinate with other support disciplines or core functions as required
