Job StoryWhen students are seeking clear, accessible information aboutfinancial aid and scholarships, our office needs creativecommunicators who can craft messages that truly matter. We’rehiring two Communications Interns for the academic yearto help us connect with diverse audiences and make financial aidresources easier to understand.
Job SummaryA student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other studentsor provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties- Apply principles of effective communication to create engaging content for students and families.
- Edit and update website content, design user-friendly forms, anddraft branded emails.
- Script, record, and edit short videos that explain financial aid processes and share student stories.
- Work closely with staff to manage projects, meet deadlines, andadapt strategies to evolving needs.
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6credit hours at Wichita State University.
Required ExperienceThis is specific to each position and department. See additional requirements and/or preferences.
Preferred Qualifications- Junior, Senior, or Graduate-level student
- Majors in Digital Arts, Communication, Marketing, Graphic Design,UI/UX, or related fields
- Familiarity with editing and designing websites
- Experience with communications, graphic design, video production,or Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong writing/editing and storytelling skills
- Comfortable with digital platforms (web, email, social media)
This position is for Fall 2026 & Spring 2027.
Physical RequirementsAbility to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate acomputer and other office equipment including but not limited tophone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
