Job StoryThe NIAR ATLAS lab is looking for a graduate assistant for their Program Management position.
Job SummaryThe primary function of a graduate assistant (GA) is to assist in basic scientific research using laboratory facilities, computer programming or operation, data collection, correlation and preliminary interpretation of data, statistical analysis of data and writing preliminary reports, bibliographical work, or assisting musicians or artists in their creative endeavors.
Job Duties- Assist the Program Manager in updating project schedules, tracking milestone completions, and monitoring action items.
- Organize, archive, and route engineering project data, customer deliverables, and compliance records.
- Coordinate meeting logistics, prepare agendas, and take highly accurate, technical meeting minutes for client and research review teams.
- Help compile internal project status metrics, charts, and presentation decks for leadership reviews.
- Serve as an internal point of contact to follow up with multidisciplinary engineering teams on overdue project inputs.
- Perform general operational and office administration tasks as assigned to streamline laboratory operations.
Bachelor's Degree
Additional Requirements- Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program at WSU in Industrial Engineering, Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a closely related field in good academic standing.
- Basic understanding of project management lifecycle phases or engineering design workflows.
- Excellent technical written and oral communication skills to interact professionally with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and a demonstrated ability to execute assigned tasks independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary research lab environment.
- Capable of performing standard duties involving standing, walking, and remaining in a stationary position operating office equipment.
- Experience or familiarity with project tracking software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello, or 3
DEXPERIENCE platform). - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
