Performance competencies & responsibilities:

General labor

  • Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials, equipment, tools as directed in plans or from supervisor
  • Ability and willingness to perform some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training
  • Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment
  • Ability to use and knowledge of small hand tools including tape measure, drills, saws, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to lift, move and carry 50 lbs. throughout the workday

Time management

  • Stay on task when working on projects with or without supervision
  • Complete assigned tasks with efficiency by or before deadlines given from a supervisor
  • Maintain consistent, dependable attendance to support daily field operations and project schedules.
  • Report to the jobsite on time each day to support crew coordination and daily production.

Communication

  • Follow verbal and written directions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Notify supervisors promptly of delays, issues, or changes in site conditions
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with supervisors, crew members, and subcontractors
  • Proactively communicate jobsite needs, material shortages, safety concerns, and other issues to the supervisor
  • Demonstrate jobsite and situational awareness through recognizing hazards, anticipating needs, and communicating concerns

teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with FCC team members and Subcontractors with differing work/personality styles
  • Consistently demonstrate willingness to learn, develop self-sufficiency, and stay open to new methods and direction from supervisors
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude that contributes to a productive crew environment
  • Support a positive team culture by being dependable, cooperative, and solution focused

Health & Safety expertise

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and debris free work area throughout the day
  • Keep tools and equipment clean and stored properly at the end of each shift
  • Consistently wear and use required PPE correctly on every job site
  • Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and complete OSHA 10 Certification
  • Understand and maintain Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) guidelines
  • Understand and maintain Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM)
