Construction Technician – Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings

This role focuses on assembling and installing pre-engineered metal buildings on commercial construction projects. You will connect structural steel components and assist with steel framing, metal roofing, metal siding, and trim installation. The position involves regular work at heights using scissor lifts and forklift baskets, and is ideal for reliable, hard-working individuals who enjoy hands-on construction work and are comfortable working outdoors.

Responsibilities
  • Install and assemble pre-engineered metal building components, including structural steel, framing, metal roofing, metal siding, gutters, and trim.
  • Connect pieces of steel together safely and accurately according to project specifications and drawings.
  • Perform sheet metal work related to commercial building construction, including measuring, cutting, and fastening materials.
  • Assist with framing and general construction tasks to support overall building assembly.
  • Work at heights while tied off, using scissor lifts and forklift baskets in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and use appropriate fall protection and equipment at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools, equipment, and materials responsibly.
  • Support both local and travel-based projects as needed, adapting to different job sites and conditions.
  • Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to meet project timelines and quality standards.
  • Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or material needs promptly to ensure smooth project progress.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience in construction, particularly with metal buildings, metal roofing, or metal siding.
  • Ability to perform sheet metal work, including working with gutters, metal roofing, and metal siding.
  • Experience or familiarity with framing and general construction practices on commercial projects.
  • Comfort working at heights and willingness to be tied off and operate on scissor lifts and forklift baskets.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic, with the ability to work 45–52 hours per week.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use fall protection equipment correctly.
  • Physical capability to work outdoors, lift materials, and perform labor-intensive tasks throughout the workday.
