Job Summary

12 News is seeking a full‑time Anchor/Multimedia Journalist to join our news team. The ideal candidate will have a strong news sense, energy, and a dynamic personality, excellent on‑air and newsroom communication skills, and the ability to handle breaking news situations with poise.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Work with the producer, news director, and assignment desk to plan daily newscasts.
  • Maintain excellent news judgment and uphold journalism ethics.
  • Write, story, and report with strong storytelling skills.
  • Produce newscast rundowns, stories, graphics, and coordinate with control room and field crews; produce as needed.
  • Operate social media and online news production tools.
  • Organize and manage time effectively.
  • Shoot, edit, and go live with own stories.
  • Deliver live reporting with ad‑lib capability during breaking news.
  • Work primarily Monday‑Friday, with willingness to work longer hours and different days as required.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in journalism or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of on‑air television news reporting, anchoring, and producing experience (training available).
  • Basic experience with newsroom computer systems (ENPS) preferred.
  • Knowledge of AP Style for digital platforms and broadcast writing for television.
  • Ability to operate field cameras, editing, and lighting equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift or carry equipment ranging from 35–50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Professional representation of the station on‑air, in the newsroom, and on social media.
  • Desire to win, reflect on work, and apply feedback.
