Position: FutureMaker Events Demonstrator (Part-Time)

Future Maker Events Demonstrator (Part-Time)

WSU Tech is seeking an enthusiastic, tech‑savvy individual to serve as a Future Maker Events Demonstrator. This role engages students and community members by showcasing technical careers in STEM fields. You'll bring hands‑on experiences to life through the Future Maker Lab, supporting school visits, community events, and campus activities that inspire the next generation of skilled professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engage participants and demonstrate STEM and technical career pathways in aviation, manufacturing, healthcare, construction sciences, and other fields.
  • Operate audio, visual, and virtual/augmented‑reality equipment in a variety of settings on and off campus.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining new hands‑on, interactive activities to promote technical education.
  • Support event setup and teardown, including transportation and storage of lab equipment.
  • Present to groups of students in an engaging, professional, and age‑appropriate manner.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and represent WSU Tech positively at all times.
  • Travel as needed, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Collaborate with the Future Maker Lab team on program improvements and maintenance projects.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Comfortable learning and operating new software and technology tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Professional demeanor with attention to detail and customer service focus.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
