Job Summary

The Instructor will be a member of a team that supports student achievement and success from recruitment through graduation and beyond, advancing equitable economic mobility, personal empowerment, and transformed communities. The instructor conducts college courses at an appropriate quality for undergraduate students as assigned by the Department Chair and approved by the Dean, facilitates the learning process by designing and implementing appropriate, meaningful, and equitable instructional activities, evaluates student learning by creating and implementing well‑designed assessment tools, participates in curriculum development, mentoring, and other duties assigned by the Program Coordinator, Department Chair, and Dean, and keeps accurate records pertaining to students and adheres to all institutional policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Certification as an EKG Technician (NHA CET) or an active registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential in good standing, issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Qualified to teach Telemetry Cardiovascular Technician course.
  • Experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with appropriate technology including Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, One Note, One Drive) and collaboration apps and software.
  • Willingness and ability to teach morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend classes as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to teach face‑to‑face classes, online asynchronous and online synchronous classes.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work at multiple campuses, or off‑site locations as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Health Science.
  • Two years’ experience in cardiovascular health care.
  • Didactic, lab simulation, and clinical education experience.
  • Understanding of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teaching and Learning
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to institutional policies while performing duties designated by the Program Coordinator or Department Chair.
  • Supervise and mentor students in all settings, ensuring safe, effective practice and adherence to professional standards while monitoring their progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance curriculum content, incorporating feedback from local industry partners and ensuring alignment with current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as recommended by the Program Coordinator and approved by the Department Chair and Dean.
  • Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing inclusive instructional activities that are appropriate, meaningful, and maximize student outcomes.
  • Adhere to department course guidelines and ensure that content includes program, state, and SACSCOC‑approved competencies.
  • Accurately maintain all required college records, including attendance and grade reports.
  • Compile resources of specialized materials for outside reading assignments.
  • Appropriately utilize learning management system tools as required by the college and/or department.
  • Maintain, review, and update course descriptions, objectives, and syllabi for courses of instruction.

Student Success
  • Proactively connect with students to provide mentoring and coaching to achieve academic and career goals.
  • Contribute to student success as part of the care team for each student.
  • Provide practical suggestions to students to improve academic performance.
  • Encourage students to discuss and share academic problems and brainstorm solutions.
  • Support students by listening to concerns, providing moral support, identifying and addressing problems, and connecting with support services.
  • Learn, utilize, and maintain proficiency with program requirements and tools, including the college’s student success portal, computer information system, and learning management systems.
