Wichita Collegiate School (WCS), a thriving Independent School located in Wichita, KS, will add an English Teacher to our Middle School team for the 2026-27 school year. The Middle School English Teacher will teach up to five sections of English. They may also teach electives or other classes as assigned. The ideal candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for preparing and delivering engaging learning experiences aligned with the WCS scope and sequence, and that spark curiosity in our students.

In addition to teaching English classes, our new teacher will lead a student advising group.

Our teachers will place students at the center of all teaching and learning to ensure the best educational experience for each student. They are willing to support WCS beyond the classroom with their time and talents to expand the student experience. Their curiosity for learning drives a commitment to professional growth, and they actively participate in school-led professional development activities (including faculty meetings).

Collegiate educators are committed to doing whatever tasks are necessary to enhance the student experience.

Collegiate teachers come from diverse backgrounds, but they share a commitment to delivering high-quality instruction to students. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field; a graduate degree in English is preferred but not required. Three years of classroom experience is preferred; advanced education or relevant professional experience may substitute for classroom experience.

Wichita Collegiate School is a coeducational, college-preparatory, independent day school for students in early childhood, from 2-year-olds through grade 12. Located in East Wichita on a 42-acre campus, Wichita Collegiate is home to 968 students across four divisions:

Work Environment

Collegiate Educators are expected to be on campus from August 1 through May 31. During the school year, school hours of operation are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm; the classroom schedule varies by department. Faculty members are expected to participate in school activities to foster our sense of community.
