GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Youth & Family Coordinator will assist with the leadership, management, and supervision of the Youth & Family programs and staff for the Kid Zone, Mom’s Day Out and Parent’s Night Out, in order to provide the highest quality programming within a safe environment.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTSEducation/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum age of 21
- Relevant department experience and certifications
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to routinely perform the following physical activities; climb, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand, walk and perform moderate physical activity for extended periods of time, lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity
- Must be able to lead and coach teams and individuals and have the ability to communicate effectively; both orally and in writing
- Must possess mental alertness, problem solving and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment
- Must exhibit initiative in the absence of supervision
- Must demonstrate a high level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment and the desire to work with all ages
- Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner
- Must work collaboratively as a team member as well as independently and lead by assigned goals, duties and deadlines
- Must present a neat and professional appearance at all times
Job Requirements:
- Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision and values
- Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire
- Complete CPR/AED, First Aid, O2, and Listen First Workshop in accordance to Conditions of Employment
- Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association
- Work a schedule that reflects the needs of the branch; including evenings and weekends
- Responsible for providing excellent customer service.
- Assisting Senior Program Director in training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating all staff and volunteers.
- Assisting in evaluation of services and programs on a regular basis through verbal communication and written documentation to improve quality.
- Maintaining complete familiarity with all risk management procedures and policies.
- Assisting in the development of department policies and enforce those established.
- Responsible for being accessible and visible to staff and members.
- Supporting membership and program operations by communicating information quickly.
- Preparing and ensuring that all conditions in the program areas are safe and clean for quality experiences.
- Following all risk management guidelines according to branch policies and procedures and prepared to implement emergency procedures; notifying supervisor of any concerns with the facility or equipment, ensuring a safe environment.
- Enforcing all program rules and policies
- Attending applicable training to further professional development.
- Leading and supporting Strong Community Campaign fundraising efforts.
- All other duties as assigned.
Ensuring safe, supervised Youth & Family programs by providing high-quality staff and services.
