** Job Description Summary
** A Pre College Senior Teaching Assistant is a specialized position which provides academic and leadership support to Pre College program. Along with the regular duties of a Teaching Assistant, (i.e. assisting in the delivery of teaching lessons, facilitating interactive activities, and providing classroom support)     A Senior Teaching Assistant serves as a liaison between Teaching Assistants, students, faculty and staff.
Only applicants who have worked Pre College as either an Teaching Assistant or Resident Assistant in previous summers should apply to this position. All other applicants will not be considered.
** The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job:
** Working with the Center Director for the Center of Continuing and Professional Studies, Nathan Skiles, Senior Teaching Assistants are responsible for the preparation and daily delivery of the Pre College program. Senior Teaching Assistants will enhance learning objectives through the use of their talents, skills and creativity.

This position works directly with minors. Senior Teaching Assistants may be required to work morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours, and must have full availability through the duration of both the training week and entire Pre College Program, (Monday, June 14 to Saturday, July 18, 2026). Senior Teaching Assistants cannot work other on-campus jobs while Pre College is in session.
** While we aren’t able to invite every applicant to interview, selected candidates will be contacted beginning Monday, March 16. We anticipate extending job offers after April 1.

* Duties and Responsibilities:

*** Assists in the preparation and delivery of program training and materials.
* Assists in the preparation of the Learning Management System (LMS) and online education training for incoming students.
* Oversees the preparation of classrooms spaces.
* Serves as liaison between Teaching Assistants, students, faculty and staff.
* Communicates with faculty and coordinators on a frequent basis; including phone, email and video conference.
* Finding and escorting missing students to appropriate classes.
* Assists in the delivery of lesson plans and workshops.
* Serves as a mentor for students in and outside the classroom.
* Provides classroom support such as taking attendance, setting up equipment and obtaining supplies.
* Attends meetings and events as assigned.
* Assists in inventory, preparation and distribution of materials.
* Documents student progress; reports progress to Co-coordinators.
* Other duties as assigned.

* Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

*** Must have full availability throughout the duration of the program.
* Ability to work nights and weekends.
* Must enjoy working, encouraging and supporting teen students.
* Must be enthusiastic about Ringling College of Art and Design; maintain professional attitude at all times.
* Must be reliable, punctual and able to follow through on assignments.
* Must have excellent written communication skills.
* Must have excellent verbal communication skills, both in person and over US telephone systems.
* Ability to pass a background check.
** Compensation:*** $15.50 per hour
* College provided housing or stipend equivalent to the value of on campus housing.

** Education and Experience
**** Minimum:
*** Must provide two names of faculty members willing to provide recommendations.
* Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
* ** Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Resident Assistant
