SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the direct supervision of the Studio 45 Director, assists with all aspects of the preteen environment small group ministry at New Spring Church. This includes assisting with scheduling, training, and communicating with small group volunteers for the preteen environment.
The incumbent must perform all job duties as outlined in this job description to support ongoing mission of the church while committed in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000 edition).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Assists with reviewing curriculum to select activities that correspond with the weekly Bible story. Assists with gathering small group supplies and items in preparation for the weekend services. (app. 25%)
- Assists in monitoring the preteen environment during weekend services ensuring all security policies are followed to keep children safe. Assists with greeting and engaging kids and parents, Assists with the check‑out process. (app. 25%)
- Assists with communicating with small group volunteers in the preteen environment throughout the week to keep them inspired and equipped. Assists with scheduling small group volunteers for weekend services. (app. 20%)
- Assists in recruiting, coaching, and facilitating training of new volunteers. (app. 20%)
- Assists with special events for Family Ministry. (app. 10%)
These duties are subject to change as church needs and strategies evolve. Employee may be required to perform other duties.
REQUIREMENTS- Education/Training: A minimum of a high school diploma is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of experience working or volunteering in a children’s ministry.

- Computer proficiency, working knowledge of MS Word and preferred knowledge of Planning Center.
- Must possess a commitment to see the preteen small group ministry grow spiritually as well as numerically.
- Ability to stay composed and troubleshoot in various situations.
- Ability to foster a team environment and sense of unity among staff and volunteers.
- Ascend and descend stairs and/or ladders.
- Communicate verbally with others to exchange information.
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.

- Move between various positions to support children and complete tasks in different environments, including sitting on the floor, kneeling, crouching, bending, and standing up quickly from seated positions.
- Maintains mobility and physical stamina throughout the workday to actively supervise and engage with children.
- This position works primarily indoors. Occasional outdoor work may be required.
