Job Description Summary

CBCL (Case-Based Collaborative Learning) sessions are structured educational experiences for M1 and M2 students facilitated by faculty. Faculty facilitate the sessions for the same small group of 7-8 students during the academic year.

Job Duties

  • Guide the discussion and promote self-directed learning and intellectual inquiry during small groups.
  • Empower students to work through the case themselves by creating a teaching environment that succeeds in achieving input from all students in the small group sessions.
  • Facilitators should intervene if students are clearly off track, rushing to conclusions too quickly, or if there is not equal participation among team members, etc.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in communication skills, ethical behavior, and respect with students and colleagues.
