Nex Step is seeking passionate and dedicated faculty members to join our Adult Education team. As a GED Faculty member, you will help adult learners prepare to pass the GED exams, and earn their high school diploma.
We are hiring for multiple part-time positions (6 hours per week, in-person).
- Language Arts Classes:
Mondays & Wednesdays, 9am12pm and/or 6pm9pm - Math Classes:
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9am12pm and/or 6pm9p
Job Summary
The Adjunct Faculty for GED instruction plays a crucial role in helping students achieve their educational goals. In this position, the instructor will provide effective instruction and support to students in preparation for the General Educational Development (GED) tests, ensuring that all learners are equipped with the skills needed to succeed.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that supports adult learning and professional growth.
- Deliver engaging, interactive instruction using GED curriculum resources.
- Apply differentiation, small group strategies, and problem-solving approaches.
- Track student attendance and maintain necessary records and documentation.
- Provide constructive feedback to support student progress and academic achievement.
- Model and encourage strong work habits such as punctuality, cooperation, and professionalism.
- Participate in professional development to remain current in the field.
- Strong background in ESL, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, or Math; K12 teaching experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Energetic team player committed to positively impacting adult learners and the community.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Must pass a background check and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license.
