Job StoryAre you passionate about supporting students, building community,and creating meaningful programs? The Parents and Caregivers Community (PACC) Programming Intern will help develop and deliverinitiatives that support Wichita State students who are balancingtheir education with parenting and caregivingresponsibilities. In this paid applied learning opportunity, you'll gain hands‑on experience in program planning, family engagement, student outreach, data analysis, and project management. You'll assist withevents such as National Student Parent Month, help connect students with campus and community resources, gather feedback from studentparents, and support training initiatives that strengthen family-friendly practices across campus.
This position is ideal for education majors interested in family engagement, student success, community advocacy, higher education,or nonprofit careers. Through mentorship and real-world experience,you'll develop leadership, communication, and data-informed decision-making skills while making a lasting impact on fellowstudents
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other studentsor provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties- Knowledge:
Basic understanding of student support programs and an interest in helping students who are balancing school withparenting or caregiving responsibilities. - Skills:
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to assist with events, outreach, and simplerecordkeeping. - Abilities:
Ability to work well with others, stay organized, take initiative, and create a welcoming and supportive environment forfellow students.
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6credit hours at Wichita State University.
Additional RequirementsApplicant must be a student in the College of Education.
Required ExperienceThis is specific to each position and department. See additional requirements and/or preferences.
Physical RequirementsAbility to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate acomputer and other office equipment including but not limited tophone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
