Job Overview
Child Start is actively recruiting for multiple openings in our early Head Start classrooms serving children ages 0-3, with positions available across Sedgwick County. These are full-time career opportunities for dedicated, early childhood professionals.
Typical DayA typical day working with Child Start in an early childhood classroom may involve:
- Encourage children to try new learning activities.
- Assess each child’s development initially and update assessments throughout the school year.
- Review the curriculum continually and write weekly lesson plans that incorporate all areas of child development (social/emotional development, physical and cognitive language development).
- Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA); scholarships available to help with CDA completion.
- Relevant experience working with infants and toddlers.
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds for various classroom and event needs.
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or sponsorship.
- Ability to commute daily to Wichita, KS.
