Overview

(2–4 Years OR 5–10 Years Experience) We are hiring Structural Design Engineers to support a leading Tier 1 commercial aerostructures manufacturer, contributing to large-scale commercial aircraft programs within a high-rate production environment.

Location:

Wichita, KS.

Contract:

6 months (strong potential for extension). Aircraft Program:
Commercial widebody aircraft – Fuselage, Wing & Pylon structures. Compensation: see details below.

Compensation
  • 2–4 years: $46/hour + per diem (for eligible candidates)
  • 5–10 years: $55/hour + per diem (for eligible candidates)
About the Opportunity

Join a collaborative aerospace engineering team responsible for the design, integration, documentation, and evaluation of flight vehicle structures. This role focuses on performance, functional adequacy, manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Engineers will support primary and secondary structures, payload design, weight calculations, and lofting activities on high-profile commercial aircraft programs. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on exposure within a Tier 1 aerostructures environment, working closely with design, manufacturing, and certification teams.

  • Develop, integrate, document, and evaluate aircraft structural designs.
  • Support primary and secondary structure design activities.
  • Contribute to payload design, weights, and lofting.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, cost, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including stress, manufacturing, and certification.
Qualifications 2–4 years of experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in structural design for commercial aircraft.
  • Strong knowledge of metallic structures.
  • Proficiency in CATIA and Boeing design processes.
  • Experience with ENOVIA.
  • Recent experience (within the last 10 years) on commercial aerospace programs within a Tier 1 supplier or OEM environment, with primary structure exposure.
  • Exposure to aerospace structures, product development, and new design.
  • Commercial OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required; strongly preferred over drafter/technician backgrounds).
  • Lead and perform structural design activities for fuselage, wing, and pylon structures.
  • Develop and evaluate designs for performance, manufacturability, cost, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
  • Work closely with stress, manufacturing, and certification teams to deliver safe and efficient structural solutions.
2–4 years of experience — Additional Requirements

5–10 years of experience
  • 5–10 years of experience in structural design on commercial aerospace programs.
  • Strong expertise in metallic structure design.
  • Proficiency in CATIA and Boeing design processes.
  • Experience with ENOVIA.
