Civil Engineer

The Encompass Group is working with a award-winning, architectural firm in the Wichita area that works with a variety of project types. Operating with a unique nimble approach, they partner with clients to go the extra-mile in a turn-key design process.

Responsibilities/duties will include:

• Can fully manage land development projects, and more specifically commercial land development. Understands project scopes and budgets. Prepares engineering documents and computations. Must possess an ability to take a project from concept thru construction plan design, development and the permitting process.
• Attends meetings with project team.
• Communicate with clients, municipalities, and agencies for completion of project.
• Can prepare civil drawings and construction documents in AutoCAD or Microstation.
• Direct other junior engineers working on larger project and CAD Technicians on simple assignments.
• Modify plans as reviewed by agencies, municipalities, and clients.
• Provide construction-related services.
• Prepare permit applications, cut sheets, and quantity estimates.
• Perform construction observations.
• Ability to prepare modeling, calculations and reports for storm drainage and water quality/detention systems, water systems, sanitary sewers systems, and earthwork quantities.
• Ability to prepare site, erosion control, grading, utility, and roadway plans, profiles, sections and other civil plans necessary for land development project.
• Ability to follow and apply CAD standards
• Quality check all work and work of other designers to ensure complete and accurate plans are provided to engineers
• Project management including monitoring schedule, budget and staffing on projects

Requirements:

• Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation
• Must have 2+ or more years of civil engineering design experience, preferably in commercial land development
