Our client, a precast/prestressed concrete manufacturer, is seeking a Professional Engineer to join their team. Position is located near Wichita, KS.
Description:
Looking for a Professional Engineer with strong experience in the design and engineering
of prestressed and precast concrete structures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for
overseeing the structural design process, reviewing project specifications, and ensuring that
projects are completed in compliance with relevant codes and regulations. This is a collaborative
role, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project
delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead structural engineering efforts for precast and prestressed concrete projects.
Review and analyze project drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure complete
understanding and compliance with client requirements.
Direct engineering activities to ensure all work adheres to environmental, safety, and
regulatory standards.
Provide technical guidance to both internal teams and external clients, addressing design
issues and suggesting solutions.
Collaborate with the sales team to offer technical expertise and value-added solutions to
clients during the pre-bid process.
Estimate material, labor, and equipment costs to assess project feasibility and maintain
budget control.
Coordinate with internal departments and external engineers, architects, contractors, and
vendors to ensure smooth project execution and optimal project outcomes.
Develop and implement solutions to engineering problems during the project lifecycle.
Conduct site visits to ensure designs are being implemented as intended and to address
any on-site challenges.
Manage schedules and maintain effective communication with clients to ensure project
timelines and goals are met.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in the design and engineering of precast concrete structures
(preferred).
In-depth knowledge of design codes and standards, including PCI Design Handbook,
IBC, ACI 318, AISC 360, ASCE-7, and others.
A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a similar role with a proven track record of
exceeding performance expectations (preferred).
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Strong proficiency in structural design, with experience using computer-aided design
(CAD) and formwork engineering methods.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate
across different departments and interact effectively with clients and external partners.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with manufacturing facility support and providing solutions to resolve
technical issues.
Ability to provide timely and accurate design solutions to meet client and project needs.
