Job Description
This is a Technical Subcontract Management (TSM) field support position. The TSM will provide onsite support at various Lockheed Martin (LM) major systems, airframe, and tooling suppliers. Approximately ninety percent of the TSM’s time is spent onsite at an LM supplier facility. The TSM is a member of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team that LM Aeronautics uses to minimize disruptions to the supply chain by providing in‑field oversight of supplier execution.
Daily activities include working with supplier personnel to prioritize components through manufacturing, validating the status of deliverable parts and providing detailed status to LM procurement, preparing plans to reduce or prevent shortages, identifying risks in the supply chain, and developing risk‑mitigation plans to minimize the potential impact to LM.
Responsibilities- Understand production processes as they relate to aircraft systems components, avionics equipment, machined part fabrication, tooling fabrication, and lean manufacturing.
- Be familiar with legacy aircraft, including F16 and C130, with a background in manufacturing engineering.
- Act as a self‑starter that analyzes supplier processes and develops improvement plans in collaboration with personnel from both the supplier and the company.
- Collaborate across multiple functions—within the company and at the supplier facility—including production, procurement, quality, and engineering to expedite parts or assemblies required to support each company Aeronautics Line of Business.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with supplier personnel at varying levels of an organization.
- Build relationships quickly with multiple stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience with industrial engineering.
- Direct manufacturing experience.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with electronic material requirements planning systems such as SAP.
- Ability to work across multiple venues with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery.
- Comprehensive understanding of overall manufacturing processes and procedures, ability to interpret specifications and contracts, and understanding of objective evidence.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for presentations and potential executive‑level briefings.
- Experience working closely with quality engineering, manufacturing engineers, and purchasing to coordinate planning and work schedules for production.
- Excellent interpersonal relations, customer service, and communication skills.
- Well organized with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to gather, interpret, analyze, and proactively act on data with minimal supervision.
- High sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast‑paced team environment anticipating and adjusting to production challenges.
- Demonstrated skills and experience purchasing in an electronics manufacturing environment.
