The Opportunity
As a Summer Intern at Black & Veatch, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. Key Responsibilities- Assist Project Controls professionals with cost, schedule, earned value, and quantity reporting, maintain high data integrity, and be proactive in asking questions and raising issues. Working to understand the “Why” behind the reports and be an active and engaged project team member.
- Perform routine aspects of planning/scheduling, cost analysis, and/or contract administration.
- Assist with Project Forecasting.
- Update Commodity Curves, Daily Production Trackers, and Equipment Logs.
- Assist in Earned Value tracking and verifying quantities installed.
- May facilitate meetings.
- Attend Site Safety Walks.

Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Engineering, Finance, accredited university in Construction Management, or related discipline program. No experience required. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Work Environment- This position will be located on a field project site. Project location is determined closer to the candidate's start date. Must be willing to relocate for the summer 2026 internship program. Must have reliable transportation.

- Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions.
- Requires working in very hot (above 90 F) or very cold (below 32 F) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions.
- Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
- Work around hazardous equipment.
