2026 Internship - AES Mechanical Installations Engineer Job Summary
Design of Avionics and Electrical Systems equipment installation on Single Engine and Citation Jet aircraft.
Responsibilities- Prepare engineering drawings for avionics and electrical system equipment installation using computer‑based drafting tools (CATIA and/or IAI Harnes Sys).
- Design installation of cockpit displays and controls, remote line replacement units, antennas, sensors, wire bundles and secondary support structures.
- Perform analyses requiring frequent application of engineering principles.
- Assist in preparing engineering trade studies, functional test procedures, certification reports, and other engineering documents.
Education: Prefer completion of 60 credit hours while currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace).
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Microsoft Office applications.
- Critical thinking skills in troubleshooting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional and diplomatic demeanor.
- Working knowledge of CATIA V5.
Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. at the time of application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F‑1 students and J‑1 exchange visitors who would require employment sponsorship.
Internship DetailsSummer internships are 40 hours per week, typically from late‑May to early‑August, lasting 10 weeks. Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
