This role is a growth focused engineering position, supporting New Product Development (NPD), reverse engineering, and capability expansion across FAA Part 145 repair activities. The ideal candidate is a self starter, capable of working autonomously in a fast paced, flexible engineering environment, and experienced in supporting DER repairs and FAA certification activities.

The Aircraft Systems Test Engineer will plan, implement, and support FAA Repair Station activities; apply engineering principles, theories, and industry practices to develop FAA approved repair solutions; and participate across multiple aspects of the FAA FAR 145 component repair and certification process. All duties are performed in a dynamic shop?based environment supporting both Engineering and Operations.

  • Support reverse engineering efforts where OEM manuals or design data are limited, including teardown, failure analysis, and test equivalency development.
  • Make changes to existing designs for derivative product development, cost reduction, or obsolescence mitigation.
  • Evaluate and approve engineering drawings, bills of material, procedures, and technical reports.
  • Coordinate activities related to technical development, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design and test challenges.
  • Prepare interim and final project documentation, including customer and regulatory deliverables (e.g., repair substantiation, test plans, qualification reports).
  • Maintain strong technical collaboration with Operations, Quality, Sales, and Engineering leadership.
  • Use equipment and materials safely and properly; report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field or higher from a four‑year college and/or university in the field of Engineering.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a regulated industry, such as aerospace or defense; FAA certification experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting FAA FAR 145 repair activities and DER approved repair solutions.
  • Preferred experience with LabVIEW, Solid Works, or similar engineering and test tools.
  • Proven team player with strong communication, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
