What are your contributions to the team?

Daily duties include test planning, readiness, execution and reporting, including but not exclusive to the following:

  • Safety Office Support
  • Developing and maintaining Safety Policies
  • Supporting Safety Risk Management Activities
  • Promoting Safety Activity in Flight Test
  • Dispatch Support
  • Maintaining records, manuals related to flight activity
  • Support and track closure for Safety of Flight review activity
  • Provide technical guidance on aviation operations, flight crew training and off-site deployments
  • Coordinate activities with civil and military aviation agencies as required
  • Maintain and update waivers, exemptions and LOAs with aviation authorities
  • Flight Test Center Training
  • Work with functional teams to develop training packages and materials for flight test
  • Schedule and coordinate regular training activities including classroom based and hands on training using simulators, telemetry and on aircraft
  • Maintain training records for BFTC personnel
How to thrive in this role?
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or STEM related discipline or have equivalent previous experience in a flight operations and safety role (ideally within a flight test organization)
  • Per US ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) Requirements, must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
  • Previous aviation (flying, dispatch or safety) is an asset but is not considered essential
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations. Strong leadership qualities and communication skills, both verbal and written are an asset.
  • Demonstrated capacity to prioritize, manage and absorb large quantities of data and information.
  • Ability to work with a variety of IT tools and equipment is required, with experience in the uses of programming for automation and workload reduction an asset.
  • The flight test environment may require irregular work hours (including weekends on occasion) and will require travel.
  • Previous experience with flight test procedures and requirements, along with familiarity with Part 25 (or equivalent) certification processes and procedures is an asset.
  • Previous experience with developing and delivering training is an asset.
