Senior Structural Engineer

The Structures Engineer will support defense and special missions aircraft programs by performing structural analysis, fatigue and damage tolerance evaluations, and airframe support activities for both new and legacy aircraft platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring aircraft structural integrity, durability, and compliance throughout the operational envelope.

Projects may include new feature development for production aircraft, field support for in-service aircraft, production line support, and aftermarket product enhancements. The engineer will work cross-functionally with multiple engineering and operational teams to support certification, reliability, and continued airworthiness initiatives.

• Perform advanced structural analysis using analytical, computational, and test-based methods.
• Conduct finite element stress analysis and support static and dynamic loads development activities.
• Assist with material selection, structural configuration, and sizing of new airframe components and assemblies.
• Provide production and field support for existing aircraft programs.
• Evaluate aircraft structures to ensure compliance with fatigue, strength, durability, and stability requirements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Customer Service, Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), Flight Test, and Airworthiness teams on a variety of technical projects.
• Develop structural test procedures, acceptance criteria, and pass/fail requirements.
• Support technical discussions with the FAA, U.S. Government agencies, and foreign regulatory authorities regarding certification activities.
• Participate in root cause investigations and failure analysis efforts to improve aircraft reliability and support accident investigations when required.
• Maintain detailed documentation related to design changes, production non-conformances, and engineering evaluations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering tools, methods, and processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field.

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in aircraft structures or stress analysis.
• Experience with structural analysis techniques, finite element analysis (FEA), static and dynamic loads development, and aircraft materials.
• Knowledge of aircraft design principles and manufacturing/production methods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and diplomatic approach when working with cross-functional teams.
• Strong sense of accountability, integrity, and ownership.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects of varying size and complexity.

• Experience with aircraft Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) analysis methodologies.
• Background supporting certification activities and airworthiness compliance.
• Experience supporting production, field service, or military/defense aircraft programs.
