JOB DESCRIPTION:
Theoris is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of new electro-mechanical product development initiatives. This individual will oversee the full product development lifecycle—from concept through design, testing, certification, manufacturing, production launch, and ongoing product support—while managing engineering teams and driving cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and experience delivering products in a regulated manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead multiple concurrent product development projects from concept through production and ongoing product support.
- Manage the full product development lifecycle, including design, testing, certification, manufacturing, and production rollout.
- Oversee engineering personnel through coaching, performance management, recruiting, and professional development.
- Develop and manage project schedules, priorities, technical resolutions, budgets, and project scope.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, certification, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to support successful product launches.
- Support technical problem solving, design reviews, and evaluation of new technologies and components.
- Work directly with customers and regulatory agencies, including the FAA, on technical and certification-related activities.
- Provide technical support for both new and legacy products as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience designing and/or managing electro-mechanical product development.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing engineering teams and direct reports.
- Experience leading product development in a regulated industry.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with engineering design software, ERP systems, and project management tools.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
