2027 Internship - EHS Engineer (Production)
Interns will gain experience in the field of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), while being exposed to multiple forms of manufacturing of Textron Aviation Aircraft. Learn how to apply Environmental and Safety regulations in a real-world manufacturing environment. Interns will have the opportunity to experience day to day operations, working independently and in teams, to promote an Environmentally Healthy and Safe culture.
Interns will:
- Assist managers in the write-up and review of safety documents
- Prepare safety presentations for the education of all company employees
- Run root cause/corrective action exercises that eliminate safety hazards
- Further develop existing safety programs such as Confined Space, Hazardous Material, Fall Protection, Lock out/Tag out
Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in:
Environmental Health and Safety, Fire Science, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Human Factors, Manufacturing Technology, Physiotherapy, or other related fields.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, quickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks, excellent written and verbal communication skills, understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma desired, computer proficient, builds and maintains constructive relationships.
Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks. Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
