FLOOR STAFF
SUMMARY:
Floor Staff team members are classified based on individual theatre needs, and/or employee availability, as either variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular or full-time hourly employees whose primary responsibility is ensuring our guests receive exceptional service. Floor Staff may be scheduled to work in the Box Office, Concession Stand, or as an Usher. Floor Staff employees must act as a representative of Regal in a way that is consistent with our mission statement and policies.
Note: If the theatre sells alcohol and your assigned duties include serving alcohol, you must be of legal age to serve/sell alcohol, complete all applicable training, obtain required permits and licenses, and successfully complete a background check.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Concession/Server duties include alcohol sales where applicable; must be of legal age with all required training, permits and licenses to serve alcohol in accordance with state and local laws.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all laws and obligations regarding serving alcohol.
- Knowledge of all coupons, ongoing promotions, and the Regal Crown Club Program.
- Knowledge and enforcement of the MPAA rating system.
- Exceptional guest service skills.
- Handling of all monies and merchandise (including non-saleable and saleable).
- Operating, preparing, and cleaning concession-related equipment.
- Proper use of concession storerooms and cleaning materials per MSDS.
- Knowledge of concession opening, closing, and in-between show procedures.
- Knowledge of emergency, evacuation, and robbery procedures.
- Excellent sales techniques, including up-selling and suggestive selling.
- Knowledge of counterfeit bill procedures.
- Knowledge of and compliance with all local, state and federal food safety laws.
- Compliance with dress code.
- Ensuring guest satisfaction – smile, greet, and thank all guests.
- Cash drawer accuracy, inventory, and coupon handling.
- Knowledge of correct popper operation and emergency procedures.
- Compliance with breaks and/or meal period regulations.
- Progress toward completion of cast certification program as a cast member and as a concessionist.
- Read and understand training materials covering topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
- Operating POS system with accurate handling of cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, and redeemed tickets, passes, and coupons.
- Upselling/suggestive selling of Premium Viewing Experience (3D, RPX, IMAX).
- Promoting the Regal Crown Club program.
- Ensuring tickets are sold in accordance with MPAA rating system and company policy.
- Responding to guest inquiries by phone and in person in a manner consistent with our guest service philosophy.
- Operating POS system with accurate handling of cash, credit, travelers’ checks, gift cards, and coupons; manage concession stock inventory.
- Promoting the Regal Crown Club program.
- Operating, preparing, and cleaning concession-related equipment.
- Upselling/suggestive selling.
- Complying with local, state, and federal food safety laws.
- Adhering to breaks and/or meal period laws.
- Ensuring required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
- If alcohol is sold, be of legal age to sell/serve according to state/local laws.
- Read and understand training materials covering topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
- Tearing tickets, collecting and depositing stubs, and directing patrons to their auditoriums.
- Inspecting backpacks and packages when applicable.
- Managing crowd control and assisting guests in finding seats.
- Enforcement of MPAA rating system.
- Conducting in-theatre inspections to monitor picture and sound quality, prevent content theft, and maintain a safe environment.
- Reporting problems or unusual situations to management.
- In-theatre concession auxiliary sales as directed by management.
- Cleaning auditoriums after shows and maintaining restrooms, lobby, and other areas outside the auditorium.
- Monitoring cleanliness and operation of theatre vending equipment.
