Position Summary

Based in Wichita, KS, the Customer Service Specialist will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the General Manager to meet customer specifications. This role requires a highly energized, engaging, and detail-oriented individual who can professionally interact with internal and external customers, providing exceptional service and resolving issues promptly.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following:

  • Actively involved, promotes, and practices safety and good housekeeping.
  • Professionally interact with internal and external customers via in-person, email, and phone, providing timely updates and resolving issues with a positive attitude.
  • Actively liaise with operations team assisting in scheduling and maximizing customer satisfaction while balancing Bodycote benefit as needed/required.
  • Responsible for creating or adjusting accurate quotes and pricing for orders, ensuring customer satisfaction while maximizing Bodycote growth potential.
  • Enter customer orders into local system with precision and detail.
  • Review Purchase Orders and contracts addressing discrepancies where needed.
  • May have access to proprietary and third-party information necessary to the business and will perform duties in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to go above and beyond.
Qualifications
  • Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of experience in customer service or a related position, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases; familiarity with CRM systems is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and build rapport with internal/external customers.
Physical & Mental Demands
  • Ability to work in a sitting position for extended periods, maintaining focus and productivity.
  • Manual dexterity for data entry and handling customer orders.
  • Physical ability to bend, pull, and reach as needed.
  • Capability to lift 25-30 lbs. safely.
  • Willingness to work in an environment with potential exposure to heat, dust, noise, humidity, and fumes.
  • Strong cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and files.
  • Ability to hear and respond effectively in person and via phone.
