Heartland Credit Union is looking for a Traveling Branch Specialist to support the VP of Retail Branch Operations by overseeing the efficient operation of the branch(es) to ensure all operational functions are completely and properly performed by the staff while conveying a feeling of trust, service, security, and satisfaction to members and staff.

WORK DETAILS

Must be available from 7:45 a.m.

- 5:45 p.m. Monday - Thursday, 7:45 a.m.

- 6:15 p.m. Friday. Some Saturdays required from 7:45 a.m.

- 12:15 p.m.

This person will travel to different branches as needed, including Hutchinson, Wichita, Haven, and Newton. The home branch will be at 3777 N Maize Rd in Wichita when travel is not needed.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Performs various branch related functions at various branches as assigned by the VP of Retail Branch Operations as needed.
  • Ensures proper frontline member service coverage at retail branch locations by managing traveling teller schedule. Ensures proper assignments based on experience, and current performance.
  • Receives, reviews, and processes applications for consumer (auto, personal, and consolidation), home equity, credit card, and overdraft loans when video banking is at capacity or if/when members refuse video banking.
  • Opens new accounts, renewing and redeeming certificate accounts, IRAs and HSAs, financial counseling and assisting members with other financial needs when video banking is at capacity or if/when members bypasses video banking.
  • Conducts outreach calls to current and potential members regarding current promotions, products and services.
  • Supports all branch operations including teller duties, processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and cashiers' checks, money orders, cash advances, ATM maintenance, and safe deposit boxes.
  • Assists with onboarding of new member service staff by providing guidance, training and coaching following completion of formal training program.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Provides superior service to members and staff.
  • Pro-actively support and advance HCU's brand platform.
  • Performs all other collection duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAVELING BRANCH SPECIALIST
  • Pro-actively support and advance HCU's brand platform.
  • Performs all other collection duties as assigned.
  • A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial services and products.
  • Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with financial institution branch functions, policies, and procedures.
  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Past leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Proven sales and business development skills.
  • Well organized and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment.
  • Ability to maintain an effective and efficient workflow.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Will become a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) through CUNA's FiCEP program. Certification fees are paid for by HCU.
  • Will be registered through the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) under the SAFE Act of 2008. Fees paid for by HCU.
  • Complete all required testing.
  • Stationary for extended periods of time. Moves up to 10 lbs. occasionally.
