Personal Financial Counselor; McConnell AFB, KS

This position provides personal financial services at designated military installations. The role offers comprehensive personal financial counseling, education, briefings, webinars, and referral resources to service members and their families.

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop and provide informational financial materials.
• Coordinate, publicize, and deliver a variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering life cycle topics such as deployment and career events.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Use virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as authorized.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations following DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision.
• Engage in regular in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required. Associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen and fluent in English. Bilingual English/Spanish required if contract demands.
• Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
