Position Overview
Koch Minerals & Trading (KM&T) is seeking a contribution‑minded Trade Analyst to join our Finance, Accounting, and Risk organization supporting our NGL/Olefins business. As a Trade Analyst, you will partner with commercial and financial groups to analyze positions, daily profit/loss, and risk—helping to influence and maximize business outcomes through innovative thinking and principled entrepreneurship. This position will be based in Wichita, KS.

- Develop deep commercial relationships with traders and commercial leaders, acting as a trusted partner who seeks mutual benefit.
- Communicate and collaborate with diverse internal teams (finance/accounting, risk, IT, compliance) to challenge the status quo and drive superior business outcomes.
- Stay ahead of changing market perspectives and strategies, proactively identifying opportunities for value creation.
- Leverage your expertise and entrepreneurial mindset to generate actionable insights and propose innovative solutions.
- Report daily/monthly/quarterly financial results, articulating key drivers, market positions, and emerging trends.
- Oversee and continuously improve internal controls from trade capture through position/valuation/risk reporting in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Use analytical skills and attention to detail to control, report, and communicate complex trading activity, seeking opportunities to automate and streamline processes.
- Review trade activity for accurate deal capture and modeling within trade capture systems, exploring ways to leverage AI and automation for efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify, recommend, and implement scalable process improvements using sustainable technology solutions, including AI, data analytics, and automation.
- Champion a culture of experimentation and transformation, challenging existing paradigms and helping the team adapt to new technologies and ways of working.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365, including advanced Excel skills (spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis, and formula creation), Word, and PowerPoint.
- Professional experience in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Market Analysis or Trade Support roles.
- Knowledge of energy‑based commodities and instruments traded (futures, options, swaps, physical trading).
- Advanced Excel skills (large datasets, complex formulas, graphs, models).
- Experience with business analysis and data visualization tools (Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI).
- Experience working with ETRM systems.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement, transformation, or implementing automation/AI solutions.
