Overview

The Banker provides excellent customer service, processes banker activities and teller transactions accurately and efficiently, and offers needs-based consulting on all bank products and services. The role supports teamwork within the department and across the bank, and contributes to the development of new business relationships while maintaining confidentiality and upholding the bank’s character qualities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, accurate, knowledgeable, and professional customer experiences.
  • Identify customers’ and prospects’ financial needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Open and service customer accounts and proactively communicate to meet financial needs.
  • Uncover lending needs and complete loan applications, including gathering required documents.
  • Identify needs-based opportunities for referrals to all areas of the bank to fully meet customers’ financial needs.
  • Utilize resources to complete documentation accurately the first time, following policies and procedures.
  • Comply with bank operations and security procedures and protect customer confidentiality.
  • Process teller transactions accurately within policy limitations and route work through branch capture promptly.
  • Complete other branch-specific responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent is required; some college or higher education preferred. 1-2 years of previous experience in customer service or sales preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Strong consultative and customer service skills; effective communication, listening, and organizational abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and web-based applications.

Required Licenses and Certifications

Ability to meet registration qualifications for Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System, if not already registered.

Physical Demands

Extended periods at a computer; sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs; ability to stoop and bend. These demands are to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment.
