Responsible for monitoring foreign currency due from accounts, and maintaining optimal balances based on customer activity and currency fluctuations. Ensures sufficient funding in nostro accounts for international payments in both foreign currencies and USD. Regularly updates foreign exchange rates used in transaction processing to mitigate currency exposure. Analyzes customer activity to maintain proper account balances and avoid overdrafts or excess idle funds.
Ensures quoted rates are competitive and profitable. Provides technical support for the issuance and maintenance of standby and commercial letters of credit and documentary collections, including negotiations and payments. Handles issues independently and makes informed decisions. Adheres to department and bank policies and procedures while keeping current with applicable external guidelines and regulations. Promotes an environment of teamwork within the department and across the bank.

- Monitors foreign currency due from accounts and maintains appropriate balances based on customer transactions and market fluctuations.
- Provide monthly profit/loss evaluations for foreign exchange accounts.
- Support issuance, maintenance, and negotiation of letters of credit and documentary collections.
- Process participation transactions from agent banks to reflect accurate global liabilities.
- Review and organize letter of credit documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to imaging.
- Handle customer transactions and correspondence efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct new business development and retention calls, including joint calls with commercial relationship managers.
- Serve as a resource for lending officers, correspondent banks, and internal departments regarding foreign exchange rates and trade finance instruments.
- Maintain foreign correspondent bank relationships, including AML/KYC reviews.
- Pursue professional development and networking opportunities to enhance industry knowledge.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred. Requires 3-5 years of related experience or 2-3 years of previous banking experience. Background in international payments and/or commercial loan operations is preferred.
Required Skills and KnowledgeMust have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail. Some basic accounting knowledge. Good oral and written communication skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, currency exchange platforms, and banking software systems.
