High Plains Farm Credit is a member of the Farm Credit System and services over $2.0+ billion loan assets. High Plains Farm Credit’s vision is to be the preferred source of agricultural financing.

High Plains Farm Credit also serves as the administrator of the Farm Credit Capital Group, a consortium of 17 Farm Credit System entities ($25BN+ in combined assets) which focuses on investing in senior secured bank debt issued by large corporate borrowers across the agriculture, food/beverage, energy infrastructure, and telecommunications sectors.

POSITION PURPOSE

High Plains Farm Credit is currently recruiting a Capital Markets – Credit Analyst to assist with underwriting large corporate debt financing transactions, as well as monitor a portfolio of senior secured loans. The Credit Analyst – Capital Markets will independently analyze GAAP financial statements, monitor various financial ratios, and prepare detailed credit narratives to support the credit approval process.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Independently analyze financial statements for large corporate borrowers across the agriculture, food/beverage, energy infrastructure, and telecommunications sectors.
  • Identify potential business model/financial weaknesses and assess the associated risk.
  • Develop estimated business valuations.
  • Prepare detailed underwriting packages to support the credit approval process.
  • Assist with the loan closing/booking process.

QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field required.
  • Academic or real-world experience with basic corporate finance/accounting principles.
  • Strong written communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience in agriculture preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
