Job DescriptionOne of Our leading global commodity trading clients is seeking an experienced Branch Finance Controller to manage the finance and accounting operations of its Kansas branch.
The role will be responsible for financial reporting, branch accounting, banking and trade finance, cash-flow management, reconciliation, audits, compliance, MIS reporting, internal controls and support to the commercial trading team.
The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, ERP experience and exposure to international trading, commodity trading or a similar commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end accounting and finance operations for the branch.
- Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in SAP, Q-Book or a similar ERP system.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, profit and loss reports, trading accounts and management reports.
- Perform bank reconciliation, ledger reviews and account reconciliation.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports.
- Manage cash flow, fund planning and working-capital requirements.
- Coordinate with banks for trade-finance facilities, limits and documentation.
- Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable and overdue collections.
- Support inventory accounting and fixed-asset register maintenance.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, local laws, taxation and statutory requirements.
- Review the financial aspects of commercial contracts.
- Support trade execution through KYC, documentation and coordination with customers, suppliers and banks.
- Strengthen financial processes, approval controls and internal checks.
- Ensure the smooth functioning of branch finance and administration.
- CA or CPA qualification preferred.
- 5–7 years of experience in finance, accounting and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, banking and trade finance.
- Experience with SAP, SAP FICO, Q-Book or a similar accounting ERP.
- Good understanding of local taxation, compliance and audit requirements.
- Strong analytical ability, commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage branch finance operations independently.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States or be willing to relocate (subject to employer requirements)
