As a Loan Operations Quality Assurance Specialist-Pre and Post Audit at Legacy Bank, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive reviews of all loan files during both the preliminary and post‑closing processes of the loan to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The role's primary responsibility is to limit the bank's risk of loss by monitoring the quality of the bank's loan portfolio documentation and onboarding and keeping management informed of potential trends, losses and compliance problems.

This role requires a deep understanding of the lending function and strong knowledge of various loan types, including consumer, consumer RE, commercial, and commercial RE.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Rotation of Pre-Audit and Post-Audit review of all new and renewed loans.

Pre-Audit. Responsible for document review of all new and renewed loans to ensure that the loans conform to established bank policies and procedures prior to loan closing and maintain an average turnaround time per loan at 48 hours or less.

Post-Audit. Review new and renewed loans to verify all required documents have been obtained and are accurate. Verify in the core system to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with bank policies, legal requirements and regulatory requirements.

Verify required documents are obtained, properly tracked, and that the bank’s lien position is perfected and maintained on all collateral.

Review delinquency notices daily to ensure payments have not been received prior to mailing. Verify loan posting journals to confirm payments are accurately applied to loan accounts. Identify and elevate discrepancies or errors in loan documentation or payment processing.

Processes UCC filings. Monthly review of existing UCC filing to ensure perfection and prevent lapse. Track all filed UCCs. Recommend an implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.

Primary contact for answering loan operations customer calls.

Other duties as assigned.

Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, the Office of Foreign Assets Control and security policies and procedures.

All employees are expected to actively promote Legacy Bank to existing and prospective customers in order to obtain and build the banks customer base and thereby enhance Legacy Banks growth and profitability.

Requirements
Experience
  • Six months to two years of experience in loan processing, closing, or auditing, with exposure to multiple loan types preferred
  • Strong understanding of the end‑to‑end lending process and regulatory environment preferred
  • Proficiency in loan origination systems preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to create and manage documents, contracts, spreadsheets, presentations, and communication
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively and professionally with cross‑functional teams
Education/Certifications/Licenses
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field will put you ahead, but equivalent work experience in financial services, documentation review, or compliance will also be considered.
